On Tuesday, the death of 49-year-old bus driver Pavel Sibiliou was reported. On 10 August 2020, amid the post-election protest in Minsk, the man was wounded by a grenade not far from Pushkinskaya metro station, which resulted in grave health impairments. Notably, he was at work on that day.

The information about the death was confirmed by Pavel’s family. He passed away on October 10.

On the back of the incident, Pavel Sibiliou spent a month in Minsk Military Hospital. According to medical documents, he had a blast injury in the lumbar region, a gunshot vertabral fracture, multiple injuries to the left shoulder, a kidney injury.

On November 25, Pavel Sibiliou was informed that no criminal case would be initiated over the situation. The bus driver was wounded in an accident – the stun grenade explosion, the Belarusian Investigative Committee concluded.

In August 2021, Pavel Sibiliou told in an interview with Nasha Niva that he had been diagnosed with cancer. He underwent several surgeries and radiation therapy.

Pavel Sibiliou is a father to three kids, his youngest son started school this year. Belsat TV team expresses our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
